Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of this website and any work you hire D&T West Lafayette Spray Foam Insulation to do. When you use the site, ask for an estimate or schedule a job with us, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work through it.

"We," "us" and "our" mean D&T West Lafayette Spray Foam Insulation. "You" means the person using the site or the homeowner or property owner who hires us. If you sign a written estimate or contract for a specific job, that document controls wherever it differs from these terms.

What we do

We're an insulation contractor in West Lafayette, IN, and we work in the cities around it. Our work includes spray foam, blown-in and batt insulation, removing old insulation, air sealing, and vapor barriers for attics, walls, basements, crawl spaces and commercial buildings. You can see the full list on our home page and read more about us on our About page.

What's on this website is general information about insulation and our services. It isn't advice about your particular house, because we can't know what's in your attic or walls until we've seen it. Every job is scoped at the estimate.

Estimates and pricing

We give free in-person estimates with no obligation. Your estimate is based on what we can see and measure on the visit, including the area to be covered, the material you choose, how much insulation is already there and how easy the space is to get into.

Older insulation and tight spaces sometimes hide problems we can't see until the work starts, such as soaked or contaminated material, rodent droppings, rot or damaged wiring. If we find something like that, we'll stop, show you, and explain what it changes. We won't do added work or charge for it until you approve it.

Prices on an estimate are good for the period written on it. After that, material costs may have moved, so we may need to update the price before we schedule.

Scheduling, access and cancellation

We'll agree on a start date with you and confirm it before the crew comes out. Weather, material deliveries and conditions found on earlier jobs can push a date, and if that happens we'll tell you as soon as we know and set a new one.

You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area and to clear stored items from the attic, crawl space or rooms we need to get into. If the crew arrives and can't reach the work area, we may need to reschedule.

Some products, spray foam in particular, need everyone to stay out of the house for a set time after they go in. We'll tell you before the job when you, your kids and your pets need to leave and when it's safe to come back, and you agree to follow those instructions.

If you need to cancel or move your date, call us as early as you can. Any cancellation fee, or any cost for material ordered for your job, will be written on your estimate or contract before you agree to the work.

Payment

Payment terms for each job, including any deposit and when the balance is due, are written on your estimate or contract. Unless that document says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished.

If a payment is late, we may charge the late fees allowed by Indiana law and may hold off on further work until the account is current. If we have to collect an unpaid balance, you agree to pay the reasonable costs of collecting it where the law allows.

Our guarantee and warranties

We stand behind our work, and satisfaction is guaranteed on every job. If something isn't right with work we did, call us and we'll come back and make it right.

Any written warranty on our workmanship is the one on your contract. Insulation products carry their own warranties from their makers, and we'll pass those along to you, but the maker decides those claims, not us.

Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from things outside our control, such as roof leaks, plumbing leaks, pests, storms, or changes someone else makes to the work after we leave. Apart from what's written in your contract and what the law requires, we don't make other promises, including promises about how much your energy bills will drop, because that depends on your house, your habits and your weather.

Limits on our liability

We're fully licensed and insured, and we're responsible for the work we do. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

We're not responsible for indirect or follow-on losses, such as lost rent or lost use of a room, or for conditions that existed in your house before we started. We're also not responsible for anything you do based on general information on this website without having us look at your house.

Nothing here limits any right you have under Indiana law that can't be limited by agreement.

Settling a disagreement

If you're unhappy with anything, call us first. Most problems get settled with a conversation and a return visit, and we'd rather fix it than argue about it.

If we can't work it out together, either of us may suggest mediation with a neutral person before going to court. If it still isn't resolved, the claim will be heard in the state or federal courts serving the West Lafayette, Indiana area, and small claims court is always open to either of us for claims that fit its limits.

Indiana law applies

These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the updated version takes effect when it's posted on this page. A change won't affect a job you've already signed for, which stays under the terms in place when you signed.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
